OUTDOOR CHEF has the funnel, the heart of the kettle grill that revolutionized the grill market 25 years ago maintained until today. The tried and tested funnel system prevents unwanted grease burns in our innovative grills of the 21st century, while the spherical shape ensures perfect heat distribution.
With the OUTDOOR CHEF method of indirect grilling, the grill is transformed into a convection grill system and is therefore perfect for the preparation of meat, especially large pieces of meat, which are gently cooked – the food doesn’t even have to be turned. This leaves more time for a cosy get together with the guests.
Thanks to the versatile application possibilities, the grills from OUTDOOR CHEF replace a full kitchen. The double burner can be used to cook at low temperatures and to grill, bake and cook at high temperatures. Whether meat, crispy pizza, fresh bread or paella – there are no limits to culinary creativity.
How To Grill On An Outdoor Chef
When grilling on the gas kettle grill from OUTDOOR CHEF , you have to decide whether you want to grill your food directly or indirectly. If you want to grill directly, turn the EASY FLIP funnel to the direct position (Figure 1). For indirect grilling, the EASY FILP funnel must be moved to the indirect position (Figure 2). After you have preheated your gas kettle grill, the fun of grilling can begin.

Depending on the positioning of the EASY FLIP funnel, you will find different heat zones on the grill surface (RED = very high temperatures / ORANGE = lower temperatures compared to RED).
DIRECT GRILL METHOD
As the name suggests, with the direct grill method, the food is placed directly above the heat source. This method is suitable for pan-fried food. Thanks to the high temperature, a nice crust or the perfect grill pattern forms on the steak.
INDIRECT GRILLING METHOD
With indirect grilling, the heat circulates around the food. The closed lid turns the grill into a convection oven. This grilling method is ideal for large pieces of meat that are cooked at low temperatures, gently cooked fish or crispy baked pizza.
